Spring is finally on its way which means out with the coats and boots and in with the cute dresses and jackets. In the world of beauty it also means a whole lot of new trends to try out from last years spring/summer fashion weeks. Some of the trends from the catwalk may seem extreme, but here are some ways you can still try them out without looking too ridiculous.
Au Naturel
Probably the easiest to copy as it is basically a bare face. However, if you aren’t comfortable with going completely bare skin in public then why not use something like L’oreal Nude Magique CC cream which aims to give you only slight coverage. A little bronzer can also never go amiss in a nude look and the Nars Laguna Bronzer would add just that extra bit of warmth to your face.
Orange Lips
Some may shy away from a bold orange lip however there are ways in which you can still work this trend without going to OTT. The Revlon Lip Butters were a huge deal last year and the shade Tutti Frutti is a great alternative for a subtle orange lip. Or if you feel a little brave then why not try MAC Morange, which will certainly give you a vibrant orange lip.
Blue eye-shadow
Another “out there” trend, which again, can be worn in two ways. Blue eyeliner is a great way of starting small; brands such as Maybelline and Rimmel do very inexpensive versions. Alternatively you can embrace the trend in full force and apply blue eye-shadow all over your lid. Urban decay do some great bright shades such as evidence, peace and radium.
White eyeliner
If done right this trend can look great. White eyeliner doesn’t always show up well sometimes so investing in a good eye pencil will be necessary. You can always use the white eyeliner for your inner corners and waterline to make your eyes appear bigger and more awake for those early mornings. MAC do a very good version of this that will show up on every skin type.
Graphic Liner
The catwalks have seen a lot of bold looking eyes this season. Futuristic looks have been created using only eye-liner by adding it through your crease in straight lines. There isn’t much of an alternative for a more subtle look except maybe experimenting with eyeliner in different places. Just like above, my recommendations for eye-liners are from MAC, their soft kohl ranges are especially good as they are not harsh on the eyes like others.
Will you be trying any of these spring beauty trends out?
