Sunscreen is essential whether you’re planning a beach holiday or a city getaway. The sun’s rays can penetrate even through clouds so it’s important to protect your skin – especially if you’ll be outdoors a lot. Riemann’s P20 Sunscreen is one of the best – providing your skin with brilliant protection whilst still allowing you to tan.
If you like to travel light, you’ll love this multi-tasking wonder product. About as natural as you can get, coconut oil can be used for everything from cleansing your skin and taking off your makeup to moisturising dry skin or even on the ends of your hair. I love RMS’s Coconut Cream which is certified organic but you can pick Coconut Oil up at most health food stores.
Rather than fighting against humid climates, opt to go with the flow and embrace your natural hair state. Using a texturizing spray like Bumble & Bumble’s Surf Spray will give your hair that gorgeous, beach-y look without any heat styling. Simply spray on, scrunch or tie back your hair for a few moments and you’ll be good to go.
A long-time favourite of mine, I wouldn’t even consider going on holiday (or anywhere really) without a couple of these stashed in my bag. For those who like to travel with only the bare essentials, Dr Bronner’s soap range will be something of a revelation. You can use this organic soap for pretty much any cleansing task you can think of – shampooing your hair, cleaning the dishes… you name it, this cult favourite can do it. Gwyneth Paltrow and Lady Gaga are reportedly fans and it’s easy to see why; not only is it effective but it’s also a complete bargain. I like to use it as both a shower gel and makeup brush cleanser but really, the sky’s the limit with this one.
