Highlighters are something that play such an important role in my makeup routine. Every gal loves wearing a bit of highlighter on the face because who doesn’t want luminous skin and standout cheek bones right?!!! I don’t know about you guys but the weather here in Italy is getting colder so my skin gets a little drier and dull, which means it’s time to get my favourite highlighters out! I tend to use more highlighters in the cooler months as my skin really needs them, but not so much in the summer months as they just make my face more oily looking. Today I want to share with you all my top 3 picks in the highstreet highlighter family. They are all gorgeous and of course affordable!
First up is my beloved Mary-Lou Manizer AKA the Luminizer by theBalm Cosmetics. It is such a cult product in the beauty world. I mean everybody and their dog talks about it. It just gives the most gorgeous highlight on the face and is absolutely amazing for highlighting your cheek bones, forehead, bridge of the nose, cupid’s bow and of course down on the chin. It can also be used as inner corner highlight, to really open up the eyes and make them appear larger and more awake. Totally worth the hype and every penny, plus it’ll last you absolutely ages. Remember that with this highlighter a little goes a long way as it is insanely pigmented. Use a duo fiber brush with this and light handed please or you’ll end up looking like a disco ball!
Next up is this Shimmer Balm by thisworks. I know that thisworks isn’t categorised as Highstreet beauty brand but this little pot of wonder contains 10g of product, it is packed with natural skincare ingredients and only costs 5 pounds. I think that is a drug store pricing agreed? This shimmer balm is a cream highlighter and it goes on very smooth. It gives the skin a subtle highlight and the golden tone is just beautiful and can be worn by all skintones. This highlighter has all natural ingredients as I mentioned before and it is safe to say that this is my No.1 most worn highlighter, not only because it’s beautiful but because it also treats the skin!
Last but not least is this Bronze Lipstick by Avon. This stuff is amazing. It can be used on the lip to give a fuller effect and also acts like a highlighter. The pale golden tone of this is simply gorgeous. It can be worn sheerly or build it up to intense. Try dabbing a little of this on the centre of the lip, it not only highlights but also just really makes the lip appear fuller and sexier. I think this cost me only 4 euros so go call your Avon Rep and order it now because you won’t be disappointed.
So I hope you have enjoyed this post and found it somewhat helpful!
