So now summer is here and exams are over, looking fabulous is high on the priority list. Unfortunately looking good doesn’t come cheap, but luckily, the high street has something to offer which will keep us glowing until October.
Many well known high street stores have released their own makeup ranges at very affordable prices. The topshop makeup range has been brought to stores recently offering very on trend colours of lipsticks, blushers, nail varnishes and eye shadows.
Topshop also offers foundation, mascara and eyeliner making the range very diverse. The products are very affordable ranging from £4 to £10, so looking great this summer needn’t worsen the ever increasing overdraft.
Another store that has leapt onto the makeup bandwagon is H&M. They also offer blushers, lipsticks, mascaras and eyeliners. However H&M offers more in terms of brushes, applicators and mirrors.
So, not only can we have affordable makeup, we can also have applicators and mirrors to place in our clutch bags to ensure perfection all day and night.
Many student nights involve some form of fancy dress, and buying the clothes and makeup for these events is costly. However, the spout of high street makeup ranges could mitigate this problem. Stores such as New Look and Primark offer ranges of very brightly coloured makeup which are ideal for fancy dress or general colour themed nights.
Furthermore, these products are so cheap (costing as little as 99p) that it doesn’t matter if the item is lost during the night. Once again, the highstreet is the saviour of student bank accounts in offering competitive products, but this doesn’t mean that the premium makeup ranges are inferior, as a good high end foundation could work well with cheaper eyeshadows, blushers and eyeliners.
